About The Role

Casual Academy Doctor

Do you have a passion for sports medicine and a dedication to supporting elite athletes? Birmingham City Football Club is looking for a Casual Academy Doctor to bring expert medical care to our talented Academy players. Join our dynamic team at the Knighthead Performance Centre and play a crucial role in their health and wellbeing.

Role Highlights:

  • Lead medical service provision for our Academy.
  • Collaborate with top professionals in Academy Performance, Physiotherapy, and Medical departments.
  • Participate in a competency-based development framework and continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, manage, and document Academy player injuries and illnesses.
  • Provide medical coverage during Academy match days and events.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support performance enhancement and ensure high standards in medical care.
  • Be an integral part of trauma response and pre-game medical planning.

We’re Looking for Someone Who Has:

  • GMC registration, in good standing.
  • FA Advanced Trauma and Medical Management in Football certification.
  • Exceptional teamwork, communication, and resilience under pressure.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • PGDip or MSc in Sports Medicine.
  • FA Safeguarding and Child Welfare qualifications.
  • Experience in professional football academies is a plus!
